Over 1 Million UK Workers Have Drugs In System

Over one million people in the UK turn up for work with drugs in their system according to new research.

The research found that one in 30 employees tested at work last year had taken narcotics including cannabis, cocaine and opiates.

And, it’s not just manual workers that are being caught by their employees – many of the people tested were in professions including teachers, police, surgeons and professional drivers.

The statistics are the product of an analysis of 1.7 million tests taken last year for some of britains best-well-known firms and organisations.

The figures are the most recent to outline the state of the UK’s dreadful alcohol and drugs problems. Recently, statistics were revealed showing Britain’s illegal drug market is valued at £6billion per year, with cocaine taking up £1billion of that.
