At Rehab Guide, we have Residential Rehab plans for those who can commit to long-term in-house programs and Outpatient programs for those who cannot commit due to work and family commitments.

Whatever your situation, Rehab Guide has the Rehab program for you.

What happens when I have chosen a Rehab in High Peak?

Once you have found a suitable Rehab clinic, we will arrange a date of entry with you. Once we have agreed on a date and time, you will go to the Rehab and begin your journey to sobriety.

What happens when I get there?

On arrival at our Rehabs in High Peak, you will be welcomed by a member of staff that will be happy to take you around the clinic grounds and answer any questions you have.

Once you have had a clinic tour, you will be introduced to your support team. You will then have a meeting regarding your rehabilitation program. Your Rehab program comprises stages your team feels are relevant to your needs.

After you have been briefed on what your program entails, you will be given a chance to ask questions or raise any concerns. When everyone is satisfied with the initial step, you can ask thought-provoking questions throughout your stay and begin the Medical Detox process.

What is a Medical Detox?

The first step of your rehab journey is a medical detox supervised by a well-trained staff, including doctors, psychiatric nurses, therapists, counsellors and our consultant psychiatrist.

What can I expect from a Medical Detox?

Medical Detox is the fastest and most effective way of ridding your body of addictive substances. Without medical supervision, withdrawing from Drugs and Alcohol can be dangerous, leading to fatigue and seizures.

At Rehab Guide, all of our Medical Detoxes are supervised by our experienced in-house doctors and nurses, who will provide specific medications designed to make the Detox process as safe and comfortable as possible.

How long does the Medical Detox last?

Medical Detoxes usually last around a week. It may depend on your current health and which substance you have been addicted to and for how long, but seven days is typical for the human body to Detox from substances.

After you have completed your Medical Detox, you will be ready to take on your Rehab program. The first step is to attend one-on-one counselling sessions.

What kind of counselling will I be receiving in High Peak?

At Rehab Guide, we know from experience that every client has specific needs because they have all had their own journey through addiction. So that is why we design all of our counselling programs around you.

You and your support team will design your counselling sessions to address what could be behind your addictive nature and how to deal with triggers effectively in a way that doesn’t end in substance abuse but in a redirection.

All of the challenges we face in addiction vary from individual to individual, so it is vital to design the counselling sessions around you; This is called the Person-centred approach. A blend of tested techniques that are open to be used together.

It is important to remember that if you feel that the current plan isn’t working, you can bring it up with your support team and discuss any changes you wish to make.

What other treatments can I expect at High Peak?

As well as attending one-to-one counselling sessions, you will be encouraged to participate in group sessions also. Group counselling can help you gain confidence and, more importantly, new friendships that can contribute to your support network after Rehab.

But it isn’t all about counselling. Our High Peak clinics can offer activities that help you relax, and that aim to stimulate and entertain you. Such as meditation and breathing techniques to reduce stress, Yoga classes, light aerobics and art classes. We also have quiet areas in and around the ground for those much-needed quiet moments, whether for reading or some contemplation.

How long does the Rehab program last?

The duration of your Rehab program will depend on your circumstances. Whether that is through what drugs you used and for how long, or whether it be through financial or family commitments or both.

Despite the varying factors in deciding the length of your stay in Rehab, we recommend that our clients stay for at least four weeks to experience the full benefits of our Rehab programs in High Peak.

We recognise that attending Rehab for this long isn’t always possible. Some of our clients cannot commit to Residential Rehab and opt for the less intense option of Outpatient programs. So whatever works for you works for us. Please call us for more information if you need more clarification on your choices.

What happens when it is time to leave Rehab?

Leaving Rehab can be as daunting as arriving at Rehab, perhaps even more so. At Rehab Guide, we prepare all our clients for life outside Rehab. A clear and concise aftercare plan will give you all the information you need on free addiction services in the High Peak area and beyond.

Not only that, but we encourage our clients to swap contact details with those they bonded with the most, including staff members.

Rehab Guide will put you in touch with supportive and friendly aftercare services that will be happy to have you.

Consistent attendance of aftercare services in your local area is one of the most vital parts of recovery that decreases the chances of relapse.
